Position overview
As a Development Helpdesk Engineer at CERM, you will play a critical role in supporting, troubleshooting, analyzing and maintaining our MIS software solutions. You will collaborate with a team of talented developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and robust applications and support service that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
These are the key responsibilities for the role
- Support: work on 3rd line helpdesk issues that get escalated to development
- Troubleshooting: Debug and resolve complex technical issues and software defects.
- Assisting in continuously improving and maintaining C++ code for our MIS applications, ensuring high performance and quality.
- Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including product management and customer service, to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation related to software design, code, and configuration.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our software development practices and products.
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent through experience.
- Strong proficiency in C++ (5+ years) with a good understanding of the language’s libraries and algorithms.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server: knowledge of T-SQL, transactions, isolation levels, interest in performance tuning.
- Experience with software development tools (e.g. Embarcadero).
- Eagerness to support customers and be in contact with first and second lines support staff.
These skills and/or experiences will set you apart:
- Proven experience working on ERP applications or other large-scale software systems.
- Experience with other programming languages such as Angular.
- Experience in QA.
